The Skirrid Bolt Hole is a hand-crafted shepherd's hut sitting at the foot of The Skirrid Mountain, just 2 miles from the Brecon Beacons. This wooden wonder offers total privacy in a stunning Welsh landscape. Small but perfectly formed, it packs everything you need into its cosy frame. The owners Michael and Tracy have thought of everything - except bringing your dog, as this one's strictly humans only.
The surrounding area is packed with walking opportunities. Climb The Skirrid right on your doorstep for spectacular views across the countryside. Abergavenny sits nearby with its famous food festival, while the River Wye offers canoeing and kayaking for the more adventurous.

When you're knackered from all that fresh air, the on-site tea room will sort you out with cakes and refreshments.
Inside the hut, you'll find a comfortable double bed where you can stargaze through the windows, a smart TV, gas hob, fridge and kettle. The shower room includes a WC and underfloor heating. Outside is where the magic happens - an enclosed garden with private hot tub for two, a luxurious multi-jet shower, sauna, hammock, fire pit and gas BBQ.
Nearby attractions include Abergavenny Castle (10 minutes), Big Pit National Coal Museum (25 minutes) and The Walnut Tree restaurant (10-minute walk) for an amazing dinner. The Skirrid Bolt Hole is perfect for couples wanting to escape city madness. It's like glamping but with actual comfort - and a hot tub that doesn't require sharing with strangers wearing questionable swimwear.
