The Byre Reviews

Excellent stay, quiet, relaxing and superb facility especially if taking a dog. Completely safe large area outside, plenty of walking right from the door. House high quality, spotless on arrival, beds comfortable. Just cant fault this property or the owners in any way will definitely go back. Our black lab Walter loved the pigs, pheasants and his holiday too! This is the best holiday accommodation within the uk we have stopped at would highly recommend. Thank you
Had a really fantastic stay at the Byre, completely exceeded our expectations. Thank you. Lovely and spacious rooms comfortable bed, linen was clean of good quality and smelt fresh, nice dark rooms and very very quiet at night. Modern fixtures and fittings in keeping with the property. Didnt need to use the wood burner as the underfloor heating keeps the whole of the property very cosey and warm no cold spots. The kitchen is very well equipped everything you picked up was clean with no chips. The garden was fantastic for the dogs very well fenced nice and high with no dodgey spots!!. Had some really lovely walks with the dogs but beware as it is a coastal cliff top walk but once at the beach dogs had a fab time. Lovely big patio area with ample seating and the icing on the cake was the hot tub
Everything it said on the tin! If you are looking for a tranquil stay in peace and quiet then this is perfect. Nice local strolls available, however you need a car to access local shopspubs. We had a fabulous week, the property is fantastic and would definitely come again

Absolutely loved the stay at The Byre, the property was immaculate inside, we had an issue with the cooker not working but this was easily fixed by the maintenance, the hot tub was a great attraction for us, everyday we spent time in there, in our opinion the grass was quite long for the time of year, the dogs came in very wet every time they wet out. The local area was also great, some good coastal walks and beaches in driving distance. I have already recommended it and would love to stay again in the future.
Stuart
Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need. Very clean and huge beds! Probably the best dog friendly property weve stayed in, lovely large enclosed garden for the zoomies and plenty of outdoor space for walking. Would definitely recommend it and were looking to go back.
We had the best time staying at the Byre, would recommend this cottage to anyone, had an amazing large garden which my dog enjoyed! Place was gorgeous and everything had been well catered for, for humans and dogs!! Would love to come back and stay again.

This is one of the nicest places we've Ever stayed we had great weather so we didn't even leave the place It's everything you'd want if you have dogs that love to run the totally enclosed garden was great for our dogs They literally have everything you need a proper home from home Even though it's on a working farm there was no noise and everyone is lovely I honestly can't thank you enough We will definitely be going back
Perfect location and an amazing garden for our dog. Beautiful coastal walk right on our door step. Clean and spacious and modern for easy cleaning after muddy walks. Hot tub was perfect. It does clearly state that the property is on a working farm and there were a few times our German Shepherd wasnt sure about the tractors driving past the garden or the security lights coming on sorry about the barking this however did not take away from the fact that the garden is huge and the whole experience at this wonderful property was amazing. Weve had the best time, we didnt want to leave and 100 recommend
Amazing property, very well equipped and comfortable. Each room has been well thought out and there is everything available you could need from toddler cutlery to a hoover. The garden was a fantastic size and fully enclosed for our dog, and we enjoyed a soak in the hottub after a long walk. We loved visiting the pigs and ducks everyday. The owners couldn't do enough to help and came round came round straight away when we had a small issue and resolved it for us. Overall we had a lovely stay at The Byre and will hopefully return in the near future.
This is the second time we have stayed at The Byre and definitely won't be the last. The whole experience is so comfortable and peaceful with everything you could wish for within reach. The piggies have grown a bit but then they are a year older! They still came running towards us with squeals of glee which sets the day off with a big smile. The people on the farm are really friendly, nothing is too much trouble, it's such a pleasure to stay here. Perfect for Sasha, my German Shepherd, lots of interesting and fun walks and beaches to visit. If the weather prohibits beach visits, the large garden and farm tracks are so handy. We highly recommend The Farmers Arms. Amazing Sunday roast with a special bowl of lamb, beef and turkey for Sasha which was a huge winner for both her and me! Thank you so much for having us.
Absolutely beautiful cottage, clean, comfortable, very well stocked, lovely beds, fantastic back garden. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Lynsey
Amazing property. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning.
Beatrice
A beautifully renovated cottage, tastefully decorated. Very comfy beds and good quality linen, including fluffy bathrobes. We loved the hot tub and the safe garden for our dog. All the extra touches like dog treats, mats and tags with phone number show this is a very friendly place for dog owners. Great coastal walks on the doorstep without having to take the car. A relaxing and welcoming place. The only
Totally amazing place ! ! The build is outstanding and owners are great . You will not be disappointed and the garden was great for our two dogs. Beaches are all close by .
Really beautiful place and remote location but not far from main roads once your of the farm road. Beds were really comfy very firm but I love that. The garden is just a plus if you have a dog as its a massive space

A stunning hidden treasure on a coastline we had always bypassed previously. The Byre has everything you need for a comfortable spacious break. All requirements are catered for Hannah and Emma are easily contactable, helpful and very informative. The perfect location for a relaxing time whilst being close enough to everything the region has to offer.

Beautiful place, could not fault it. Absolutely everything you needed for a lovely stay. Dogs absolutely loved garden. Already booked another property in September with this lovely couple. A big thank you for everything
The Bryre is a beautiful barn conversion! We had a great relaxing & comfortable week with the dogs. Such a lovely big garden for the dogs to run around, while we had a very much needed soak in the lovely hot tub after a day of exploring! The beds are so comfortable for a good night's sleep ready for the next day out & about. Some lovely places to visit near by & plenty of dog friendly places to eat. Would definitely recommend any of the lovely barn conversions owned by Emma & David. Hope to see you again soon xx
We had a fabulous time at the Byre. The property was very comfortable, immaculately clean, the garden was perfect for the dog & the hosts were lovely. There were lots of great places to visit & eat locally & we wouldnt hesitate to recommend it & will hopefully go back another time when the weather is better
The cottage was amazing. The hosts Emma and David couldnt do enough to make us feel welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble. They were brilliant! They have created a stunning cottage. The location was fantastic and we really did have the best week.
Excellent property with fantastic facilities. Only slight downside was that we had no internet access or WiFi in the property all week. Probably due to the weather affecting it very rural area. It was a nice digital detox though!
We had fabulous stay at the Byre. Everything was perfect. We loved relaxing in the hot tub. The dog enjoyed her welcome box which was a really lovely and unique. Its well equipped with everything you need. Everyone from the team was friendly, super helpful and gave lots of great recommendations of places to visit and eat in the local area.

We had the perfect stay at The Byre and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing break in South Wales. Location is ideally situated to explore the whole South Wales coast and we spent our two weeks exploring everywhere from Newport to St Davids and Barry Island to the Brecon Beacons. The cottage itself is perfect, everything has been thought about and the huge garden and hot tub make it the perfect spot. Simply perfect x
Andrew
The Byre was absolutely fantastic. The place was clean and beautifully finished with plenty of space for us and our husky, who loved being able to wander around the garden. Would definitely go back again
This was a fabulous find! The property The Byre was gorgeous, incredibly comfortable and very spacious the owners had thought of everything. This is, by far, one of the best places we have ever stayed. The garden was perfect for my German Shepherd and the place was situated within reach of so many lovely places to go, particularly with a dog. In particular, we loved Dunraven Castle and Beach. The Farmers Arms Turkish Mezze served amazing food we just wished we had visited it earlier in our holiday so we could have gone back and tried other things on the menu. It was lovely to meet Emma she and her husband David are an inspiration and have created a wonderful space! Oh and you have to stop by the Kune Kune piggies, they are bundles of fun although they are fast becoming teenagers!!! Thank you so much for having us.
Charlotte
We had a fantastic week at The Byre. The cottage was perfectly clean with excellent facilities. The hot tub was used every day! The location is beautiful and within easy reach of the beaches and local pubs restaurants.
Stephen
Amazing property renovation to a very high standard. Great place to stay, with a short drive to everything you need for a holiday. Emma and David are lovely people and anything you need they will help you with. We had a fantastic time and would recommend to anyone
A super cottage! Everything we needed! Emma and David have created a lovely set of 3 cottages on their working farm that would be ideal for an extendedfamily breakholiday! For keen walkers the cottages are a very short walk from the South Wales coastal path, a short walkdrive to lots of beautiful villagesresorts and ideally situated near Bridgend halfway between Cardiff and Swansea. We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather and 1 week just wasn't enough to visit all the places we wanted to see we will need to visit again! Looking forward to it!
Carole
Fantastic property. Very well stocked with all the home comforts. The hot tub was wonderful. Location is excellent, very close to good pubs, an organic milk 'cow' hut and long walks. Very dog friendly, with huge garden and lovely welcome pack not only for the humans but also the dogs. Owners were very responsive and helpful.
