Heritage Retreat, Monknash

We couldn't fault this lodge. The hot tub was great. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wished we had booked for longer. Owners were lovely. We would stay again.

All furnishings to an extremely high standard, cleanliness impeccable. ..would highly recommend ...owners on hand but not overpowering and will definitely return in the future

Heritage retreat exceeded our expectations, Phillipa and Glyn are the perfect hosts so very welcoming, perfect place to stay if you like peace and tranquility, charming pub, great locals, all in all perfect base for site seeing. Would highly recommend this lovely place!

The Lodge was large and beautifully appointed both internally and externally. Modern but cosy at the same time. As it was out of season, the campsite was closed so we had a beautiful uninterrupted view of fields and the sea in the distance, although the view would be lovely any time of year being slightly elevated. Both Philippa and her husband came to check on us soon after arrival and made us feel very welcome, but gave us privacy for the rest of the time. A small problem we had was promptly followed up on. During the season the campsite has a small club house, but the pub is only a 5 minutes walk away. Nice local walks too.

Absolutely fantastic trip to Heritage Retreat! Phillipa was so welcoming and couldnt have been more helpful. The accommodation was spotless and beautifully decorated we completely fell in love with the dcor. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Firstly, thank you to Philippa and Glyn for the warm welcome and for making sure our pooch, Alf, was looked after to. The Lodge was absolutely beautiful and fitted out to a very high standard, with highquality furniture and bedding. The views are stunning out to sea, and when using the hot tub, which we used every day, the evening sunsets are magical. If we needed anything Philippa or Glyn were happy to help. We stayed for 10 days and there is plenty of coastal walks and places to visit, you won't be bored. We will definitely be going back when we get the chance.

Great place to go. Really friendly owners that were there if needed. Really comfortable beds. Best dishwasher ever used, as not having one at home. Lovely walks to be had, about a 20 minute walk to the beach.

Staying at Heritage Retreat was absolutely amazing. We could not have asked for more. The accommodation, the views, the location, the serenity and the hosts were outstanding. We were welcomed with open arms and the host could not have done anymore to make sure we had everything we needed. We have already recommended the place to neighbours, friends and family however did not want to encourage them too much as we want to keep it as our gem!!!

On arriving at Heritage campsite we were given the most warmest welcome by Philippa and Glyn. The lodge was stunning and spotlessly clean. We had the most wonderful week and will definitely return

This was an amazing lodge with fantastic views. It was spotlessly clean with every comfort needed for a wonderful relaxing stay. This accommodation was a much needed respite to our recent hectic lives. A space to breath. There was decking to the front of the lodge with an umbrella and table set and also an area to sit in the private garden, both with views over the channel. The lodge overlooks a very quiet and peaceful adults only campsite. No tents or camper vans are near the lodge, all in allocated spaces further down the field. We loved watching them come and go. The type of site encouraged friendly campers and motor homes. Which was limited to a small number, so not overcrowded. The hot tub was an obvious bonus. The campsite has an added bonus of a little cafe serving breakfasts which also had a little, well stocked bar not open too late, with a friendly atmosphere and some tables overlooking a channel view. The best part of our whole experience was the wonderful staff. They could not have been any more lovely, supportive or helpful. Their high standards shone in everything, from cleanliness the lodge had a deep clean between every guest visit, to customer service. Our outside bins were emptied daily by a lovely man who would give a friendly greeting as he emptied them. Everyone was just so wonderful. The owners were amazing, especially Philippa, who went above and beyond and I would like to say became a new lovely friend. Would we recommend this lodge? 100 yes!

This was a real find. I only stayed for 3 nights, I'll know better for next time I book. So peaceful and relaxing, as the camp site is adults only and everyone respectful. The cottage had absolutely every thing you could need. Although lovely places to visit nearby, it was so lovely just to really relax and use the hot tub. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully furnished accommodation with views of the sea. The online photographs do not do justice to this lovely place. We received a warm greeting on arrival from Philippa and Glyn who showed us where everything is, and our stay was peaceful and relaxed. There is a nice walk across fields and through woodland to the beach with views across to Devon. There is also a decent pub 150m away serving local ales and food. We cannot recommend this highly enough. Absolutely fabulous.

On arrival we were met by the owners who were lovely. They explained how everything worked and then left us to it. They supplied a welcome book which explained walks etc as well as local shops & takeaways. The Lodge was stunning and they supplied everything you need for your stay. I highly recommend taking the trail to the beach and visiting the local pub. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you Philippa and Glyn for an amazing stay .

We had a wonderful break in the Heritage Retreat. Excellent views, great facilities and a very high level of comfort. All kitchen equipment was a high spec and everything we needed was provided. We really enjoyed the hot tub and would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for some downtime, with lovely walks and a friendly pub just 5 minutes walk away.

Heritage Retreat is a Scandinavian inspired lodge with all mod cons and home comforts. The owners Philippa and Glyn have thought about everything you would need, including towels for the newly installed hot tub! The lodge is kept to a very high standard and is spotless throughout. It is situated close to the coast which offers sea views on a clear day and the beach is walkable in about 15 minutes via a conservation area. This is our second visit and a third is planned. If you fancy luxury accommodation, peace and to be close to a stunning coastline, this is the place to visit!

Myself and my partner stayed at Heritage Retreat over the new year and we were both extremely happy with the stay. Nice and modern, really comfy beds, spacious kitchen with all the bits you might need for your stay and a well stocked log fire in the living room. Would definitly recommend to anyone.

Review of Our Stay at Heritage Retreat 1010! Our holiday was a perfect 1010! Location 1010 The retreat boasts stunning coastal views and a tranquil atmosphere, making it a great escape. Its also conveniently near charming towns and Cardiff City Accommodations 1010 Our rental was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a cozy living area featuring a fireplace and comfortable bedrooms for relaxation and amenities for our dog also. Everything was exceptional quality! And we loved that it had its own hot tub also! A short walk away is the most wonderful oldie worldly pub The Plough and Harrow and theres also walks along the Glamorgan Heritage coastline on the doorstep Amenities 1010 The kitchen was fully equipped for holiday and extra logs for the wood burning stove available onsite. Cleanliness 1010 The property was spotless upon arrival, showing the hosts' dedication to cleanliness and detail. Customer Service 1010 The hosts were welcoming and responsive and a thoughtful welcome basket filled with treats and a milk was kindly left for us in the fridge. Nothing was too much trouble for Glyn and Phillipa they were gems! Overall Experience 1010 Our time at Heritage Retreat was magical, combining beautiful views, festive decor, and excellent accommodations, making this holiday unforgettable. Final Thoughts For a memorable Christmas getaway by the sea, Heritage Retreat is a true gem. We highly recommend it and cant wait to return!

Had a fantastic week at Heritage Retreat The accommodation was well equipped, immaculately clean, with tasteful decor and quality finishes throughout. The lodge benefits from a superb view over countryside to the sea which can be enjoyed from the property and also whilst relaxing in the hot tub! The surrounding area is beautiful with many nearby beaches to enjoy. Glyn and Philippa were friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

The property was extremely clean, comfortable and warm. 5 at its best. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The local pub was great, highly recommend the meals especially the Sunday roast. A very welcome break.

What a lovely lodge, every detail has been thought about to ensure you have a fantastic stay. The hot tub was a bonus only in place for a week so a luxury we didnt expect when booking. The owners were lovely met us on arrival but did not intrude, there if we needed them for anything. Our dog loved her stay too and was not happy about leaving. Would highly recommend this lodge, excellent value and brilliantly placed to explore the Vale of Glamorgan.

This is an exceptional property, beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. The hosts are friendly and helpful, without being intrusive, and clearly care about the experience they are providing. The location is perfect for coastal walking, the local pub was also great and the new hot tub all added to a brilliant break.

A lovely comfortable lodge. Warm and cosy. Supplied with everything we needed. Nice location, with the pub very handy.and a short journey into Bridgend for supermarket shopping. The owners were very helpful and thoughtful, but not intrusive. The dog had a wonderful time too...We did intend to try the coffee shop on site which looked very inviting but never quite made it. Next time maybe..

An outstanding property with lovely views from the front veranda clean and well presented with all mod cons for cooking and relaxing on arrival we were greeted by Phillipa who was leaving us some milk and some essential items which was much appreciated after our drive the property is well maintained and serviced with daily emptying of the bins and and checking of the grounds we were using it as a base to visit family and relax with the dog on many of the walks in the area which there are loads only a short walk to Monknash beach 15 mins Will definitely be back thank you Phillipa

Wow, what a gem! We had the most incredible stay. Every little detail of the Lodge has been considered, from the fantastic beds, bedding, towels to the blackout, beautiful curtains and blinds, and furniture. We wouldnt change anything! Thanks so much, Philippa and Glen!
